What I believe is going onn in peoples' heads when it rains

O no its raining out. I think I will leave my brain at home today so it doesn’t get wet.

I’m heading to work on the highway and go to change lanes. Its a gray crappy wet morning. I go to change lane and just before I shift I see the outline of a car. Its grey and has no lights on. Mass has a law that says something like light on when your wipers are on. This car was just the right shade to blend into the highway. I imagine the law is for just this type of stupid. Not to be outdone, a few minutes later someone, who apparently was far too excited to go to work, comes blasting down the highway with their high beams on.

Maine has a similar law - if your wipers are on, your lights are on, period.

Of course, it could be a blizzard and some idiot decides he doesn’t want to turn on his lights so out of the fuzzy whiteness you see bright red that wasn’t there before and you have to dodge with all of the agility of a tractor-trailer.

This happens often in Mexico in light rain, but if they don’t have their lights on its their fault if they crash, regardless of your asshollery because it is also illegal to run without lights at night or while in rain.

Not that it matter because in heavy rain people put every single light their car has on, only fools go without their headlamps

I suspect another law that isn’t enforced, so it is ignored. Gotta protect the children and chase those violent felons going 10 over.

The stuff I see around Seattle in the rain is mindblowing, especially for an area with such an insane duration of rainy weather. Late model Lexus seem to be the winners for no lights in rain and dark conditions - the dopey owners mess around with the automatic lights.
